Weekly Giving Summary Explanation

We wanted to clarify the numbers that are reported each week.

The approved weekly budget: This figure is the annual church-wide giving budget approved by the membership of $3,514,732 [which represents 41 % of the total budget], divided into 52 weeks. Contained in this number are weekly offerings, donations from IRAs, estate gifts, stock donations, and gifts from Donor Advised funds. This figure does not contain any fees or tuition received from the academies or the event department [the remaining 59%] . These have their own individual budget managed by that department’s leadership team and the finance department.

Actual weekly giving: This is the amount of donations received. This figure varies widely because donors give on a variety of frequencies ranging from yearly to weekly, and estate gifts are typically a single distribution. Historically, we see an uptick in giving at calendar and fiscal-year end.

Over/under: This reports the year-to-date amount of the approved budget and the weekly income, as noted above.

An important Takeaway: At North Heights, we align our spending to the actual revenue we receive rather than spend based on the proposed budget. The goal in this process is to be transparent on giving which can be controlled by the congregation.

We believe that giving is biblical principal and a sign of discipleship and obedience.
